LAJA PRIMARY SCHOOL, TANZANIA

The rehabilitation of the Laja primary school has been a great success and the construction was completed by the end of December 2016. We have been working with the local organisation CASEC with whom we have formed a trusted and very productive working arrangement that we hope we can utilise to replicate the success of the Laja school project in other villages.

The impact of this school rehabilitation has been great for the children and the local community. Previously children were having to walk up to 12k to get to an alternative school as the Laja school was in such dangerous disrepair that students and teachers did not want to attend.  Now that the project is completed students and teachers are beginning to return and we hope that it will reach its capacity of 340 children early in 2017.
