VITAL SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE

The cost of repairing and expanding school infrastructure often falls to parents. This is a huge burden for the poorest and most vulnerable communities. MMF has funded school infrastructure in communities with a strong commitment to education and an urgent need for investment. We also boost school food production and income-generating projects to help the schools become more self-sustaining.

Projects we have worked on:

QALODA PRIMARY SCHOOL, TANZANIA

  • 372 children have been sent to school

  • The Local Government gifted £2,000 towards the build and transportation of materials

  • The community gifted local materials valued at over £7,000

  • MMF donated £20,900

  • A major renovation was carried out with over 8 classrooms and 2 staff rooms, bathrooms and 7 teachers' houses

NEW BLOOD SCHOOL, THAILAND

  • Educates 600 Burmese migrant children from villages and refugee camps

  • 1/4 of these children are orphans, who board at the school

  • A large part of their old school was in disrepair and unsafe

  • MMF funded a new wing with 5 classrooms and an office

PADARIYA SCHOOL, NEPAL

  • The existing building was in disrepair and some classes were taught outside to meet the demand

  • MMF funded a new school building for 200 rural children

MICHAEL MATTHEWS LEARNING CENTRE, BURMA

  • A new school was created for the Mae Wah Khee village in Karen State, Burma

  • This gives education to over 150 children who previously had little to no education or access to school
